October 15 …Monte Carlo….. The boys in Greenwood just wanted too much to paint this 88 model… So I stepped up to the plate. The metal really is nice except for the r/r qtr. It was beat out too far from the inside. I spent most of my morning and all of yesterday afternoon going over and over it again. Some razorblade work and a lot of aircraft stripper removed the paint from the hood and deck. We just sanded it off the short roof and fender tops. FINALLY, I sprayed her down with the 2k primer and my day is over. Start blocking in the morning.
Whoa Moma! That is way slicker! the hood and deck came out like glass reflecting off wet ice..The customer was particular.. he was sure he wanted the factory stripes back like they are supossed to be.. He is the BOSS.. and will get what he wants! Wound’t you? Saturday morning and I sprayed her body… good thing I went to school on these silver colors. You can sand it in different directions and the paint will lay different. I got this one right! Slow reducer makes the flakes law down like they should. My customer is gonna be glad he brought his car here, saves money too. ! Monday.. My pinstriper came in. The customer was right.. the stripes really set it off.. It will be ready Tuesday! Final assembly Tuesday morning. He dropped it off last Wensday afternoon ant it is ready the following Tuesday. ………..Your car could be next!
